Why we're called LibraOS.
A digital employee should never outrun your judgment. Our name is about the line it won't cross.
The scales
Libra is the balance — the scales, 天秤. It is the oldest symbol we have for weighing one thing against another before you act. That is exactly what a LibraOS digital employee does. Below a line of confidence and scope, it works on its own. Above it, it stops and hands the decision back to you.
Everything it produces is weighed: grounded in your documents, cited to a source, logged for audit. The name is the product's first principle — supervised autonomy that always weighs itself against your review.
What LibraOS is
LibraOS is the company AI operating layer. You delegate real work — contract review, market research, compliance reports, ticket triage — to a digital employee that runs inside your own environment and returns output where every claim is source-cited.
It is one Go binary: multi-agent orchestration, grounded retrieval, a three-tier firewall, and 100+ models behind an OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Your data never leaves your network.
If you knew the engine by another name
Some of you have run this engine before it was called LibraOS. Nothing you built breaks. Existing environment variables, client IDs, image tags, and API paths keep working — indefinitely. We do not rename wire and config surface, and we do not make you migrate plumbing to keep a name tidy.
The change is on the outside: one brand, one home, at libraos.com.
Put it to work
The name is a promise about how the software behaves. The fastest way to see it is to hand it a real task and watch where it stops.
